Brexit – where are we and what can we do?

11am – 3pm [Arrive at 10:30am for registration]


An opportunity to speak to other positive Europeans, hear from informed speakers and to explore practical steps we can all take to make our voices heard in the ongoing Brexit discussions.

There will be a lunch break at 12.30pm when tea, coffee and Danish pastries will be available. There are places to buy snacks and sandwiches on the way to the venue.

The day will be chaired by Linda McAvan MEP and speakers include:

  • Prof Chris Husbands, VC of Sheffield Hallam University
  • Paul Blomfield MP, member of the Shadow Brexit Team
  • Sir Andrew Cook, Chair of William Cook Holdings, a large engineering company with sites in Sheffield, Leeds and Durham
  • Shaffaq Mohammed, Leader of the Liberal Democrats on Sheffield City Council


A £5 charge will be requested to cover the refreshments and room hire costs.  This can be paid in advance by cheque (payable to the European Movement) sent to Mike Dods at 4 Wensley Grove, Leeds, LS7 2NB or on the day.
